Chapter 12

The Power of One

At 211 degrees, the water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And with steam, you can power a train. One extra degree makes all the difference.

— Sam Parker

The one thing you can control is your day-to-day preparation mentally and physically for each event. You need to have a strong Why and be supported along the way by your family and friends.

Sticking to a plan, being intentional, and always striving to achieve goals has made me a one-percenter in life.

In the same way, it is possible to build your legacy, and it starts with just one brick.

Rob’s story teaches us that even depression and anxiety, which equated to suffering, was a gift and not a punishment. This suffering allowed him to find his purpose in life, which is to give people hope each day.

So even if it's one degree outside, do the hike, run your scheduled run, because you never know when that one decision could change your life.

Action Steps:

● Plan to focus on just one task at a time. 1 Prayer, 1 Text, 1 Thank you, 1 Date, 1 Mile, 1 life you can change!

● Achieve your big goals by stacking one brick at a time.

● Have a plan and then work daily on it.

● Surround yourself with highly focused and competitive individuals.
