Darren Janzen shares his journey of making significant life changes during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a police officer in Canada before transitioning to become a firefighter. When COVID hit, Darren and his family had plans to travel but ended up taking a leave of absence and selling everything they owned in Canada. They traveled to the United States and ran the mid-state mile race in Tennessee. They then went to Nicaragua but eventually decided to move back to the States. They faced challenges at the border but were able to secure visas and buy a house to renovate. Their future plans remain fluid as they navigate the visa requirements for their children. Darren Janzen shares his journey of taking calculated risks and embracing opportunities. He emphasizes the importance of mindset and the stories we tell ourselves. Darren's physical transformation coincided with his house-flipping project, highlighting the connection between personal and external transformations. He hired a coach for running and nutrition, recognizing the value of expertise and accountability. Darren encourages giving oneself a long runway to achieve big goals and emphasizes the power of mindset in achieving sustainable results. He also discusses the importance of language and shifting from 'should' to 'could' and 'can' to create a more positive and empowering mindset.
