Andrea Synder, the founder of Advanced Esthetics with Andrea and the part-time practitioner in the spa, Skin and Body Esthetics, joins us on the show today.
Andrea’s journey into esthetics can be said to have been influenced by her desire to care for people. She is a licensed esthetician of 17 years. Initially, she was a CNA working with Alzheimer’s patients for five years before pivoting to esthetics school.
Today’s episode lets us in on some private details of her life by talking about the impact growing up in an abusive and broken home had on her, her reason for choosing esthetics, and the point in her life in which her choice was validated. She also discusses specific life lessons outside esthetics that have significantly impacted her life.
Based on her professional experience, she shares tips on what to do when you feel defeated or feel like quitting the esthetics industry, how to stay relevant in the ever-changing industry, how she balances her practice with her faith and life roles, how new estheticians can find their niche and her top five tips for estheticians for managing their practice, clients and themselves. She also discusses her skincare line, Skin Remedy, and what it took to make it a reality.
