Cheryl Zen Miller, the founder of the Zen Institute, is today’s guest. She created the Zen Institute against the background of her experience and knowledge gained over the years as a fitness instructor, a cardiorespiratory therapist, a massage therapist, and an esthetician. At the Institute, she teaches her own techniques, incorporating her knowledge and love for fitness and massage into her facials.
Her esthetics journey has been quite colorful with its fair share of ups and downs. On today’s show, she talks about strength for new beginnings flowing from having to start her business afresh after closing down her 25-year-old spa due to COVID, starting a “bad idea” business that is currently thriving, and her struggle with, and overcoming, imposter syndrome.
She also talks about how embracing challenges helped her become a powerful one-person-show in her business, the growth and lessons learned during the skin games that made her a better all-round businesswoman, and how she navigated the legal and manufacturing obstacles in the beauty manufacturing industry to bring her top-selling Zen Butter to life.
This episode is loaded with business tips such as habits for success, building good menu services, and avoiding competition.
