The ICA Health and Wellness committee's current podcast episode features Jason Shafer.
Jason Shafer joined the Colorado Symphony as the Principal Clarinetist in 2013. Jason teaches graduate and undergraduate clarinet majors at University of Northern Colorado in the School of Music, and is on the faculty at the International Festival-Institute at Round Top in Texas. Jason has appeared in guest principal roles with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony; he is also Principal Clarinet at the Sun Valley Music Festival. Jason has performed in Thailand, Austria, Estonia, and Russia. He has been fascinated by performance psychology for entire career, and recently completed his Master’s degree in Performance Psychology. Works with musician clients, both individuals and groups, to help them work through issues related to performance anxiety, confidence, and more. Jason completed a master’s degree in Performance Psychology, and is currently in the process of earning the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) designation through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
