John 1:18
The aim of the apostle John in the introduction to his gospel is to show that Jesus Christ is the Word who was at the beginning with God, and was God. That this Word became flesh. Jesus Christ is a real man and is essentially God. One person with two natures. Here John tells us that no-one has seen God at anytime. What about all those theophanies? What about Moses who spoke to God 'face to face?' These are the questions we begin to look at and come to the understanding that truly, it is the Lord Jesus Christ who declares God.
