If you are like me there have probably been times in your life where you have felt stuck and unable to move forward in your life. There have been many times in my life where I've had a desire to change on some level and haven't been able to step into that change quickly. One thing I've learned about the Lord is that He's very interested in our process of transformation. We can get stuck on the result or outcome of our desired transformation, but when we learn to be in tune with the Lord and what He is doing our transformation happens much quicker and smoothly.
When we are walking with the Lord He is always bringing us into new things, and He brings us into these new parts of life because His love He has for us is so big! He doesn't want us to remain stuck in where we have always been, but He has tremendous joy in walking with you into your future as well. If we are willing to embrace the new things the Lord is bringing before us we'll see that there is great opportunity and potential to become something we've never been before.
Embracing the new work that God is doing can be very difficult and even uncomfortable. When we go through these new seasons in our life, the Lord will make available His wisdom, discernment, and understanding. The process of change we see in Scripture can be looked at as pruning, refining, exposing, and purifying. This process will often create consistency, stability, maturity, and and endurance in our character and identity. I'll share an example of this process from the C.S. Lewis book in the Narnia series called, "Voyage of the Down Treader." We'll also look at Matthew 9:17 where Jesus talked about "New Wineskins."
