Onboarding - The Process of integrating a candidate into a new role/organisation. ANYONE who has been employed at any company should have had some experience with some form of onboarding. The lack luster version is usually a 2 week training program filled with paperwork, boring presentations about the history of the company that is NEVER tied into how it impacts your job, followed by a monthly (or even bi-yearly) performance checkup of how you're doing. Gallop investigated the importance of the process according to the candidate, and found that only 12% of employees found their onboarding inspiring and positively impacted their time at the organisation, with a strong positive correlation of those other 88% quitting within the following 3 years after starting!

Onboarding does NOT end at the 2 week mark - and also does not start when the candidate signs the contract.
