Marilyn is a loving mother to 3 wonderful kids. Her oldest son Aaron is 32 years old and happily married. Tristen, 24, her middle son is the free spirit of the 3. Victoria , 20 is discovering her way as she navigates through college.
Marilyn has been fighting thyroid cancer for 3 years. At one time she had 5 cancers in her throat, skull and in both lungs. She has a titanium plate in her head. She receives injections of collagen to help with her partial speech and swallowing impairment as a result of one larynx nerve removal. Marilyn is on chemotherapy for life which is meant to keep the cancers at bay.
Marilyn is retired from the grocery retail business, Vons. She worked 32 years of nightshifts. She is living every moment to the fullest. She has a live on air radio show called, “The Untied Ribbon” with Oye Tu Radio.She is opening the second location of Rain and Butterflies Spa. She is working on a powerful woman’s club “Boots and skirts and everything between”. Ovia Media will be creating a reality show based on my cancer journey. She shares her positive energy with everyone she connects with. With her brave fight, she chooses to wake up with her best foot forward. She keeps herself accountable and present in her blessed filled days.
