Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 started Tuesday's session on a strong note amid gains across most global markets. Gains across most sectors, led by financial, IT, consumer and oil & gas shares, pushed the headline indices higher. Broader markets also strengthened, with the midcap and smallcap indices rising more than two percent each. Ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed Star Health launched an initial public offer (IPO) to raise Rs 7,249 crore. The IPO will close on Thursday, December 2.
