Eric Youncofksi is the coach of Middletown North HS Basketball. He earned his degree from URI in Public Relations, with a minor in Leadership Studies, in three years. While an undergrad, he was an Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient every year and was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court.
After graduating, Youncofski spent two years as a graduate assistant and video coordinator on Dan Hurley’s staff at Rhode Island before his promotion to Director of Basketball Operations in 2017-18. He joined the UConn staff at the same position when Hurley took over the UConn program in March, 2018.
Some of Eric's Highlights In High School Basketball Include:
Earned four varsity letters for head coach Mike Iasparro at Middletown North H.S.
Finished his career as the school's all-time assists leader (441) and a 47-11 record as a starter
Captained the team as a junior and senior
Averaged 9.2 points and 7.6 assists per game for the Lions in 2011-12, as the team registered a 21-6 overall record and made its first trip to the Shore Conference championship game
Earned All-Shore Conference All-Star honors as a senior
Led Monmouth County in assists as a junior and senior
Played AAU basketball with the Game 7 Sharks
Served as President of MNHS' Key Club.
