Description

1.
Abigail is described in Scripture as “intelligent” and “Beautiful!” (1 Sam.25:3).

2.
So, how do we know that “Abigail’ was Black?  Because she was married to king David.

And under the Law of Moses, men of Israel could only marry women of the “Tribe” they belonged (Num.36:5-7).

King David was from the “Tribe of Judah” (Israel’s dark-skinned Tribe) who descended from the (Canaanites).  “Judah” married a Canaanite woman – establishing the “Tribe of Judah,” (Gen.38).

 Therefore, in David marrying “Abigail,”
we know that she was also Black – otherwise, “David” would not be permitted to marry her.

3.
Abigail was the 3rd wife of David before he became king.
Prior, she was married to a “(Rich man)” named “Nabal”

(1 Sam.25:3).

4.
There came a time when David and his men were in the “wilderness” (war time), and they ran out of “food” they needed to sustain life.  David knew “(Nabal)” was a “Rich” man and
could supply what they needed (food, animals, wine, etc.).

5.
So, David sent his messengers and made the request to “Nabal” for what they needed (using his father’s name, “Jesse)!”
But “Nabal” refused to assist David.
