“(BLACK) CHILDREN OF THE BIBLE”

1.     “JOSIAH” – We know that Josiah
was a Black child because he was from the “Tribe of Judah” (Israel’s dark-skinned tribe).

Josiah was only “8” yrs. old when he became king of Judah (2 Kings 22:1).  The Lord called “Josiah” a
Righteous” king (vs.2).

From the time of Josiah’s birth up until he was “18” yrs. old he had lived under a Pagan, idol-worshiping “religious” system of Israel (unaware)!

2.     For all Israel had turned their backs on the “Living God” who had saved them from the hands of the Pharaoh of Egypt (hundreds of years earlier); and opened the Red
Sea
for their clear passage under Moses

This same nation has now set up idol gods
(Baal, Asherah), for the people to worship!  They were Sooo removed from God, (By practicing witchcraft), they even offered their sons and daughters as an offering to be burnedbefore the idol god Molech” (2 kings 23:10).

3.     However, when Josiah turned “18
yrs. old, he sent his Scribe to the temple while repairs were
being done.  In the midst of their
construction, the Priest found one of the “Original Books of the Law,” and took it to King Josiah (2 Kings 22:8).

4.     When the (Book of the Law) was read before “King Josiah” he was filled with grief, and remorse to learn that Israel had been defiling their own religion by worshiping Idol gods – therefore, he immediately began to restore the Kingdom of Judah to the “Living God” by tearing down all the idols made with Iron, and wood – that wereset up in the temple of God

5.     Josiah also “Removed” the Horses that
the “Kings” of Judah had dedicated to the “Sun”, at the
entrance of the House of the Lord, and he Burned the chariots
with fire ((2Kings.23:11).

Josiah restored Israel back to the Lord!

So, we see that God uses young people, mightily!

6.     Jeremiah – Jeremiah served as the Prophet of “Judah
when King Josiah was in his 13th yr. as King
(626 B.C.).  Scripture tells us that “Jeremiah
was “Sanctified/called out” before he was formed in his mother’s
womb.  But Jeremiah didn’t know
that when God made known to him his Calling – therefore, Jeremiah
said, to God,

“Ah, Lord God, - Behold, I cannot speak,
for I am a “[Youth]!” – but the Lord said to me: “Do not say, I am a “[Youth]!”

for you shall go to all whom “[ I send
you]” – and whatever I command you – “[You shall speak]!”

Do not be “[Afraid]” of their faces –
for I am with you – “[To Deliver you]!” - says the Lord,” –

then the Lord put forth His “[Hand],” and “[Touched
my Mouth] and said to me – “Behold, I have put My “[Words]” in your “[Mouth]!”
(Jere.1:5-9).

7.     King Solomon – The world recognizes that Solomon
was a Black child!  He was only “18
yrs. old (calling himself a “child” in Scripture) when God appointed him
to “king over Israel,” (1 Kings3:7).

Since he was so young, Solomon prayed that God would give him
understanding to judge the people with discernment and wisdom!  And God was pleased with Solomon’s
humble prayer
– therefore, God made Solomon the “Wisest” man
on earth!  And He added more blessings to
him by making Solomon the “Riches” and Greatest king of Israel
(1Kings 3:7-14). So, we see that God uses children/young people, greatly!

8.     Jesus – We know that Jesus was born
a Black boy by Scripture describing his hair as being “Woolly”
(like Black people),
and skin tone described as “Brass” (Brown in
color).
Rev.1:14-15

When Jesus was only “12” yrs. old, Hetold
his parents (who were looking for him), that it was now time for Him to
be about “His Father’s business,” – meaning, His Heavenly Father!  Thereafter, at age “12Jesus
was found sitting in the Temple with scholars and Scribes,
answering their questions, and they were Astonished at the answers “Jesus”
gave them to their questions (Lk.2:42-47).

Jesus has a special place in his heart for children:  He gathered the “Children” before Him
and he “Blessed” them (Mk.10:16).
