Hezekiah was one of God’s righteous kings. He was only “25” yrs. old when he
became king. And he reigned “29” yrs. in Jerusalem. His mother was the daughter of the Prophet,
Zechariah (2 kings 18:2).
Hezekiah pleased God by “removing” all
the “Idol gods” Israel had been worshiping prior to his reign.
They had even taken the image of a serpent made by Moses, and began to burned
incense to it – Hezekiah broke it in pieces, and destroyed it! (1
kings 18:4). He kept the laws of Moses
and did not depart from them. Therefore,
the Lord prospered Hezekiah.
However, sometime during Hezekiah’s reign, he was confronted by a powerful “[Assyrian king]”
named “(Sennacherib),” who had already conquered certain regions of the Philistines,
Samaria, and Lachish, (2 kings 18:34) – with the intention of also
conquering “Tirhakah,” (King of Ethiopia)!
And the king heard concerning Tirhakah, “[King of Ethiopia]”
“Look,” he has come out to make “[war]” with you!” so he again sent messengers
to “[King Hezekiah],” saying, “Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying,
“Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria,” (2 kings
18:9-10).
So, here’s what Scripture tell us about “Assyria” – The city of “Assyria”
was founded by “Ham’s grandson, “[Nimrod],” (the son of “Cush). Nimrod also built “Nineveh,” “Babylon,”
and many other cities during Ancient biblical days (Gen.10:6-12).
So, was Sennacherib a Black king? Let every man make
up his own mind! But in applying commonsense,
if it was Ham’s grandson who built Assyria, it stands to reason
that the Kings of the nations he built would also be Black!
