Therefore, the Lord used “Judges” to represent Himself to guide
the people in the right way. And so, He appointed a “Prophetess”
(a woman - not a man) to lead them.
So, God appointed his very “First” female Judge by the name
of “Deborah” to “Rule” over the people. She served as the “4th”
Judge of Israel. Deborah was a strong,
spiritual “Woman!” And the
only “Female” Judge mentioned in the Old Testament Scriptures.
Even though Debora was Israel’s first “Female” spiritual
leader, she was also a married woman.
Her husband was a man named Lapidoth
(Judges 4:4).
Scripture tells us that “Deborah” would sit under the palm
tree, and the “Children of Israel” would come to her for judgment
(Jud.4:4-5).
Here’s an example of “why” Scripture tells us that God’s thoughts
and ways are higher than our own (Isa.55:8-9).
Although Deborah fell under the “Curse of Eve,” as
all women (Men “Ruling” over women); -Gen.3:16; God saw fit to
put “Deborah” in the highest position of Israel at the time, a “JUDGE!”
So, we know that Deborah was “[Favored]” of God (Like
Mary, mother of Jesus), Lk.1:28.
What drew my attention to “[Prophetess Deborah]” was the
mention of one of her high-ranking army commanders. His name was “(Barak)!”
And here’s how that name “Barak” came up: when
Israel was about to go to war with another nation, Deborah sent
for Barak to carry out the attack against their enemy.
Here’s proof that ancient Israel was dominated by dark-skinned
people because President Obama’s given name is Barack! And we all know that Barack’s father was
an African man from Kenya.
Apparently, he named his son, (Barack) after this army
commander in the Old Testament.
At any rate, Prophetess Deborah sent for “Barak” and
gave him this order of the Lord – Scripture Ref:
“THEN SHE SENT AND CALLED FOR
“[BARAK],” THE SON OF ABINOAM FROM KEDESH IN “[NAPHTALI],” AND SAID TO HIM,
“HAS NOT THE (LORD GOD OF ISRAEL)
COMMANDED, SAYING, ‘GO AND DEPLOY TROOPS AT MOUNT TABOR; TAKE WITH YOU “[TEN
THOUSAND]” MEN OF THE SONS OF “[NAPHTALI]” AND OF THE SONS OF “[ZEBULUM];”
AND AGAINST YOU I WILL DEPLOY
SISERA, THE COMMANDER OF JABIN’S ARMY, WITH HIS CHARIOTS AND HIS MULTITUDE AT
THE RIVER KISHON, AND I WILL “[DELIVER HIM INTO YOUR HAND]?”
AND ‘[BARAK]” SAID TO HER, “IF YOU
WILL GO WITH ME, THEN I WILL GO; BUT IF YOU WILL NOT GO WITH ME, I WILL NOT GO,” (Jud.4:6-8).
Even though this Judge of Israel was a “Woman,” she
was full of “[Wisdom]” and the “[Holy Spirit]” of God! And she was a fierce, and powerful leader
(knowing military strategy to win wars against her enemies).
Deborah was such a powerful leader, Barak only felt confident to go
into battle against his enemies if she went with him
(Jud.4:9-15).
