1. So, how do we know that “[Tamar]” was a Black young woman? Because her father – King David was a Black man. King David is also the father of King Solomon (whom the world recognizes as a Black). If king David was a White man, he could not have produced a Black child (scientifically)! Tamar, as well as her brother, Solomon, were all members of the Tribe of Judah (Israel’s dark-skinned Tribe) Rev. 5:5. So, we know that Tamar was a Black young lady by her genealogy.
2. Of all women in the Bible,Tamar suffered the curse of falling under the “Rule” of men the worst! This curse was passed down to her and all women from “Eve.” It all began when Eve decided to disobey her Heavenly Father, and eat of the “fruit” God had commanded them not to eat. Therefore, God handed down “2” punishments to Eve: bear children in “Pain” and to relinquish “Equal Status” with her husband, and to now fall under his “Rule!” These “2” catastrophic curses befall every woman since Eve; making “Tamar” a victim of it (Gen.3:16). So, here’s her history and tragic story.
3. “[Tamar]”was the daughter of “[King David]” and Maacah (who was the daughter of Talmai – king of Geshur).Tamar’s mother, Maacah, was another wife of king David. So, Tamar descended from a royal background on both sides of her family. Tamaralso had brother named “[Absalom],” from the same mother.
4. However, “[Tamar]” also had a half-brother from a different mother (another wife of king David). His name was “[Amnon].
5. Tamar is described in Scripture as being a "beautiful, good-hearted, obedient, and a righteousdaughter,” who is totally destroyed by her male dominated family. Here’s Tamar’s story and what she suffered:
