Devon Turner and I worked together at a nonprofit fundraising software company called Omatic Software in Charleston, South Carolina. I was drawn to Devon's kind-heartedness and personality during my time working with him.
Devon joined me on the We Will Break the Stigma Podcast to share his story. During the episode we discussed:
- Growing up knowing he was "different" than his peers and gay and the challenge that not feeling like he could be himself caused while growing up
- The process of coming out after 19 years of hiding his identity
- Experiencing the euphoria and positive feelings after coming out and then becoming depressed after graduating from undergrad and not knowing what he wanted to do
- Using the challenges he has experienced in his life to inform his life's purpose and starting his business, Come Out Collective
Devon is a special person and will help so many people throughout his life. If you would like to get in touch with Devon you can find him on Instagram @comeoutco.
Thank you so much for joining me, Devon and for all that you are doing. We need more people like you!
