Ok, weβre stepping off the chip train today to check out some Takoyaki Balls. Yes, these are based on the Japanese street food thatβs a wheat-based batter usually combined with octopus or tempura leftovers or even green onion. The little fried balls of dough are then slathered with Takoyaki sauce (similar to Worcestershire) and mayo, then topped with dried bonito flakes. Boy, thatβs a lot to pull off in a snack. And while the bag shows octopus, it makes no appearance in the ingredients list. Go figure.
