Today's episode revolves around the heavy metal band Slipknot, but first the guys talk about work and the different experiences that white and blue collar workers have, and how they could learn a few things from each other.
Slipknot is on the docket next, and John and Tony go on a deep dive on the formation of the band, the drama that ensues when you have 9 members, the seminal first album, and have some disagreements on the tone of the first three albums. Tony then gives his insight as a drummer on how Joey Jordison changed metal drumming, how playing with a click-track shapes a bands' tightness, and his thoughts on the son of Max Weinberg drumming for one of the heaviest bands to come out of the 90's.
At the end of the show they listen some of the popular and least popular songs by the band and Tony shares some behind the scenes action that happens when you're an opening band that gets bumped off the stage in favor of a prima-donna headliner.
