Inequality between the richest 1% of Americans and everybody else has been growing for decades, and many people are very concerned about this disparity and prescribe various measures in an effort to remedy it. Most of these prescriptions involve some government intervention like raising taxes on "the rich" so they can pay their "fair share". The problem is that these policy prescriptions will end up making things worse for everybody.
