Boundaries are one of the most essential skills in healthy relationships.
Like an invisible fence around the perimeter of a yard, boundaries establish where your space ends, and someone else’s begins.
In this episode, I’m joined by best-selling author Ben Crawford to talk about how to set bold boundaries. Boundaries are the tool we have to teach people how to treat us and yet so many of us struggle to know how to assert them. Ben and I discuss why they are so important and how to establish and communicate them effectively.
In this episode we cover:
* How to let go of feeling responsible for other people’s emotions
* Practical ways to change your patterns and establish better boundaries
* How empathy can interfere with our ability to separate from another person
* The two-step process of creating a healthy boundary
* Why people-pleasing is one of the biggest obstacles to setting boundaries and what to do about it
