We've all heard the trope, "I don't want to homeschool my kid because I don't want them to be sheltered." This week's guest, Monica Ann, and her husband defy that generalization on every front. They have built their marriage around adventure, and welcoming kids into their family was not about to slow them down.
In this episode Monica talks about how homeschooling has afforded her family the flexibility to incorporate vacations, field trips, day trips, weekend trips, outdoor activities, and many other adventures into her kids' education. She shares some of her tips for avoiding boredom and frustration, staying organized, and keeping your expectations realistic when you're new to homeschooling.
Monica also shares about her own and her kids' experiences with traditional educational settings, and how choosing homeschooling isn't always rooted in a disdain for other options. Lastly, she shares about how her unexpected and inspired switch to homeschooling her children has led to opportunities to support many other families through her Instagram account, coaching, and website.
