"I believe the worst byproduct of my past and those before me is the absence of authentic conversations that would have released us from the cycle of trauma. But these conversations could not happen because of those insecurities, the shame, the fear of facing the past and the what those discussions would bring forth. And with no way of coping and dealing with these feelings, it was all stuff down ignored. And so the trauma gets handed down to the next generation. Am I the one to fracture this repetitive system within my family?" - Kelly
Megan and Kelly discuss childhood trauma discussions with parents. It's a complicated topic on many levels but the one theme that came out of the conversation is that we are all human with life experiences that create our ideas of who we are in the world, which is passed down to each generation. We welcome you to this episode and are thankful you're here with us.
