We're back on our travel nursing contract, guys! And we're happy to inform you that we're finally in the same hospital and same shift. Although we're still floating a lot around the hospital, we don't mind. That's not going to change working this contract! For our first three nights, Peter got floated first. On my first day, I was able to bypass orientation, which was interesting. Although our contracts were the same, mine was a new one while Peter extended his. I had some issues with gaining access, but thank goodness I came to work half an hour earlier. Understand that as travel nurses, things like these happen. You will always be looking for something or settling minor issues along the way. In fact, expect friction because as a nurse, there's always going to be something going on that you need to troubleshoot.
For this debriefing episode, we'll share with you some of our patient experiences, starting with the patient I had who was in the hospital for 180 days. This particular patient was very sick and was hospitalized for a while. Her family had a hard time letting her go, and her daughters were in conflict when it came to her care, which made it more complicated. Eventually, they settled for comfort care. Long story short, the patient passed, and her family had issues about being uninformed about it. Unfortunately, nurses are not fortune tellers, we cannot predict the exact moment our patient will take their last breath, right? To find out more about what happened next, watch this full episode! 😎
