Medical machines like the ventilator is a piece of essential equipment used in many hospital settings. A ventilator's job is to provide oxygen to a patient's lungs when they are unconscious, unable to breathe on their own, or have other medical conditions that require the help of a mechanical ventilator. This machine helps push air in and out of your lungs, so your body receives the oxygen it needs.
Ventilators are often used in healthcare facilities, and usually, a doctor or respiratory therapist will determine how much oxygen a patient needs to be calibrated correctly. As nurses, our job is to be familiar with medical machines like this. You must also know the essential functions, so you know how to use them in future cases.
If you are a nurse or a new nurse who wants to learn more about ventilators, this episode can shed light on that. Join Matt and Peter as they discuss another interesting topic in this latest episode of your favorite, Cup of Nurses! ☕☕☕
