There are misconceptions about nursing that many people don't understand. As nurses, we struggle with many things, and as part of the healthcare system, we are expected to be at a particular place in the hierarchy. We are often looked down and are expected to "do as we're told" rather than a colleague. While this isn't always the case, it is happening in many hospital settings. How can we change these misconceptions? What can nurses do to help each other?
In today's episode, we welcome our guest, Theresa Brown. She is a nurse turned author of the New York Times bestsellers Critical Care, The Shift, and Healing: When a Nurse Becomes the Patient. She also shared her experiences as a nurse and patient after being diagnosed with cancer.
So join us as we learn about the misconceptions of nursing and what we can do to change that. If you find value in our show, share the show as we tackle another exciting topic with your favorite, Cup of Nurses! ☕☕
