Chris has been involved in the farm community here since 2005 in many renditions of education and activism. He discovered a multinational chemical company producing GMO sugar beets throughout the Rogue Valley which led to a grassroots effort successfully banning genetically engineered crops from Josephine and Jackson counties. Since then, Chris has been deeply immersed in the seed world and education.
Chris is also deeply involved in the importance of seed diversity, food culture, community education around regenerative and climate resilient farming models, including his work trialing rare heritage grains and collaboration with local farmers.
