I am really excited to introduce you all to Murray Fischer, the founder and organizer of the Rushmore Society. Murray came down from Salem in 1997, and graduated from SOU in 1999. He completed a Masters Degree in Education at Willamette University, and moved back to Southern Oregon in 2001.
The purpose of the Rushmore Society is to engage the people involved and hold events that support the community. He is fascinated by how and where people meet ~ and what makes it easy for some, and difficult for others to connect; how our circle of friends can shrink as we age and how connecting with people leads to a more fulfilled and prosperous life. Rushmore strives to create a spot where people can meet new friends, and discover all that Southern Oregon has to offer. Murray is an organizer and likes to break free from routines and go a little against the grain. His personal interests include athletics and training, landscaping and gardening, cooking and food, wine and spirits, and spending time with his wife, Chava, his three step kids, and a wonderful group of close friends.
