Hello everyone and welcome to Living Southern Oregon! I’m looking forward to introducing you all to Michael Dotson. Michael is the Director at the Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center, a non-profit conservation organization working across southwest Oregon and northwest California's public lands and watersheds. His work is geared towards community organizing, civic engagement, and advocacy on behalf of wildlife, clean water and forests. Michael moved to southern Oregon in 2013, and is going on 9 years living in the region.
Much of his current work is geared more towards community organizing, civic engagement, and advocacy on behalf of wildlife, clean water, and forests.
Michael likes getting out on the trails, hiking/backpacking and rafting rivers in the region. He also helps out a friend from time to time during the grape growing season, helping him manage his small vineyard and wine-making operation. He enjoys the area's wineries and likes to visit local venues and wineries, especially when there's an opportunity to enjoy live local music/musicians.
