We are joined by a new member of the “Average” Alaskan family! Jack Hiembold is a long-time friend and has recently returned to Alaskan from a stint in Hawaii. Jack has been a lifelong commercial fisherman targeting Crab, salmon, halibut and more. He has recently discovered a desire to become a backcountry hunter, after an experience hunting & harvesting an Axis deer in Hawaii.
We talk about the challenges of commercial fishing and the connections those have to the challenges faced in the backcountry. From the gear you need to how to ensure your spot in your friends hunting camp. We start from ground zero and help to explain what to expect in this upcoming journey.
