Description

“I could not see how or where we struck until we were clear of the Lucinda. I asked the Captain how it happened and he said ‘The wheel would not come over’, and added ‘She had not enough steam.’ He then said ‘I won’t risk it again.’...After this conversation I waited to see what he really would do on his next trip, expecting that the steamer would be taken down the river some distance before she would clear the line of the Lucinda.” The Week, Brisbane, 21st of February, 1896.
