God’s Rescues, Protections, and Provisions - Then & Now, Part 5

David W Palmer

Throughout the history of God’s interactions with man, he has often rescued, protected, and provided for his people during the times of his dealings and judgements. To encourage you that he can look after you despite what is going on in the world—even if it’s his judgement and corrections—we will look at some examples of him having done this in the past. This way, we will certainly know that he can do it for us today. God will look after you in what’s to come.

Noah and his family

God was judging the wicked world in Noah's day; but, despite the persecution and ridicule they endured, he rescued, protected, and provided for Noah and his family throughout it all. And he can do the same for you.

Lot and his daughters

Lot and his family lived in the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The evil at that time was so wicked that God had to judge the citizens of those cities and destroy them. But, despite living in the wicked worldly environment—while not being part of the sin—God was able to save Lot and his daughters. He can do the same for you. In their case, they had to leave where they were living to stay safe. God will guide you if you have to change in any way to stay safe in his protection and care.

Isaac

Isaac lived in a time of God’s dealings with the population of his area. They had been evil, so God permitted a famine/drought. However, he told Isaac to stay during the challenges, but provided for him by giving him a 100 fold increase on his sowing. So keep sowing no matter what.

Joseph, his family, and God’s people

In Joseph's day, God allowed a severe famine for seven years. However, because he knew this was coming, he had positioned and trained Joseph to be ready to supply through him for those God loved. He provided for Joseph, his family, his relatives, God’s people, his employer, and the whole nation of Egypt. God already has someone in place to look after you. And in some cases, he has positioned and trained you so that you can look after others.

His people in Goshen during the 10 plagues of judgment

400 years later, God moved in judgement against the nation of Egypt. He sent 10 plagues. However, despite this having a very powerful negative impact on the people of Egypt, all of God’s people were kept safe during God's judgement in the land of Goshen. So, no matter where God has you, he can keep you safe—even if he has to judge the world system all around us.

His people in the wilderness for 40 years

Even though God’s people weren’t perfect—in truth, the reason they were in the wilderness for so long was a type of judgement—he provided food, shelter, and water for them for 40 years in a desert. God’s dealings in our days may not be for that long, but even if it is, he can certainly provide for his people throughout the times of testing, trial, shaking, and even judgements.

I encourage you to take very seriously what we have been talking about. The days ahead may definitely include a lot of shaking, turbulence, earthquakes, epidemics, wars, and rumours of wars. In the midst of all of this, God’s objective is to dismantle the whole world system. It is going to be a very unusual time. But, if we: keep our eyes on Jesus, continue in his word, be worshippers in spirit and truth, live by faith, have burning hot love, and walk in the spirit, living in his secret place, he can keep us safe. Remember, Jesus is Lord; this means if we do what he says he can keep us protected, provided, and guided. So obedience is essential for your safety in the times coming up.

(Hebrews 5:9 NKJV) And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.

(Matthew 24:6 TPT) “You will hear of wars and revolutions on every side, with more rumors of wars to come. Don’t panic or give in to your fears, for the breaking apart of the world’s systems is destined to happen. …”
