In 2015, Olivia Klein was a recent college graduate with a 4-year degree and a pile of student loans to repay and no clue on how to find a job in her field. She was working in a restaurant and absorbing every piece of career advice she could find, all while her inbox was overflowing with job rejection letters. Fast forward a few years, 6 different towns, 7 seasonal positions; she finally found herself leading hiring teams and gaining insider perspectives on the entire hiring process.
With this newfound knowledge, Olivia began creating the systems and strategies to be successful within her own career. She set out on a mission to create a community among other outdoor professionals and share the industry specific advice that was changing her life.
On this episode, learn how Olivia founded the Career Outdoors and the Women in Outdoor Work communities. Since 2020, these communities and resources have helped over 150 women and nonbinary individuals land outdoor jobs through Women in Outdoor Work.
