The first topic of our podcast is focused on foster care. In this first episode hosted by Phillip Gulley, a founding board member of From Loss2Life Ministries, we will hear from Kyle and Meghan Blenden as they share their experience serving as foster parents in Modesto, California.
Kyle and Meghan are youth pastors at Crosspoint Community Church of Modesto and they accepted the call from Christ to open their home to foster youth about 5 years ago. In this podcast, Kyle and Meghan talk about the challenges as well as the triumphs of being foster parents. They shared, “There is a lot of grieving when kids leave the home and grief is not fair, yet we have decided to take the hurt so that the kids don’t have to. We rejoice when they are reunited with their families, even though it’s hard to let them go.”
As we learn about the foster care system through this first and the next two episodes, remember that children are our future and having a loving and caring home for children in crisis is extremely important to the welfare of the child. Keep listening to hear how the children in Kyle and Meghan’s care are journeying from Loss2Life.
