Description

In this episode, we are discussing the role of directing with the talented Michael Vaughn Hernandez. Michael grew up in Miami and is a writer, editor, producer, cinematographer, and director. He has directed various music videos, commercials, marketing campaigns, tv, and narrative films.  Projects include For the Love of Jason, And most recently, an anthology series that includes three short films: Six, Castle, and Mother.

Growing up in both Miami and the Caribbean allowed Vaughn to experience many richly diverse cultures and people from vibrantly different walks of life. From Bollywood to Asian films to American movies and beyond, he is grateful to have witnessed time and time again how cinema is a powerful and meaningful way to connect to the people and world around us. Vaughn holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University. He has utilized his skills and years of experience to fully realize his passion as a storyteller by directing various music videos, commercials, industrials, marketing campaigns, and narrative films. Projects include the inaugural season of “For the Love of Jason” (ALLBLK/formally UMC), “Worthy” (Amazon Prime), and Back2Life (American Black Film Festival).
