Michael Horton had been an actor in Los Angeles for over 25 years. During that time he appeared in over 150 network television shows, a dozen films, many Movies of the Week and over 1500 radio and TV commercials.

Shortly after Apple announced the new NLE Final Cut Pro (2000) Horton decided that it was indeed time to plunge into the world of digital filmmaking because, yes, what he really wanted to do was direct. So he went out and mortgaged his families future on a FCP NLE system and a VX1000 camcorder and did just that. With not a lot of success.

During all this, he founded the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group, which presently has over 3000 members world wide. The name changed to the LA Creative Pro User Group in 2012. Horton was also the Co-Producer of the famous “SuperMeets” held for a number of years in Las Vegas, San Francisco, Amsterdam, London, NYC, Austin, and Boston.
