On this episode I talk with Award Winning filmmaker Marc Hutchins about his feature films, distribution, and tips for the beginner filmmaker on financing your film.

Marc A Hutchins is an award-winning filmmaker whose accolades include Addy, Telly and Aurora Awards for his commercial work, Judges and Audience Choice Awards for his short films, and Festival Pick and Gold Reel Award for independent features. He has also received nominations for Best Drama and Best Script, and been recognized for excellence in producing, directing, cinematography, location management, and writing.

Marc has produced five independent feature films, co-writing and directing two of them – Crossing Streets and Nearly Married – both in distribution. His experience in film production includes working with talent such as Jane Seymour (Wedding CrashersSomewhere in Time), Erik Estrada (CHiPs), IronE Singleton (The Walking DeadThe Blind Side), Jen Lilley (Days of Our Lives, The Artist), and Cassi Thomson (Left Behind, Switched at Birth).

Marc started Alexander Films in 2003, building a dream into a full-service production company with over $85,000 in production gear and post-production resources. His passion is to create wholesome, character-driven entertainment for the family. He often refers to his directorial debut, buddy cop drama Crossing Streets, as his “family Lethal Weapon”, which is currently in talks to become a streaming series.

In 2017, Marc earned his MFA in film production from Full Sail University and taught film production at San Diego Christian College in Santee, CA for three years before returning to the east coast. He continues to write, direct, and produce entertainment.
