The story of my friend Henry Gross is as long and artistically weaving as any in music history. As a founding member of Sha Na Na to a solo career with the song "Shannon," Henry has never stopped creating great music. When I was in Daytona Beach in the mid 70's an article was written about some of the greatest artist involved in the southern rock movement. There imbedded were the names like the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels and others was an artist who was also considered a building block in that genre; his name was Henry Gross. On February 19th, 2025 Henry shared with me on the air his latest creation honoring those who created a brand of music that still stands strong today. For those who remember those great southern tunes that eventually became country music, Henry is your man as we remember that special time when it all went south! !
