Word of Wisdom: Before being unwillingly brought to America in bondage, many of those who would become slaves followed e religion of Al-Islam or held religious beliefs deriving from their respective tribes. Additionally, the first Muslims to observe Ramadan in America were slaves who snuck off into the field to pray.
