About Karl:

Karl Fowlkes, Esq. is an internationally recognized entertainment lawyer, music business professor and entrepreneur who has negotiated groundbreaking deals and disruption in entertainment and new media.

Following a short stint at Bloomberg L.P. after law school, Karl boldly opened his own law practice, The Fowlkes Firm. Over five years, The Fowlkes Firm negotiated over $60 million worth of deals for artists, music producers, joint ventures and innovative record companies. The firm’s clients include artists, musicians, athletes, producers and creative companies that have amassed billions of streams, RIAA certifications, GRAMMY awards, and more. Karl’s advocacy for music producers and commitment to innovative deals and education for creatives has garnered appreciation from the likes of Boardroom, CNN, ABC News, Complex, Rolling Stone, Variety, among others. He’s been named on Bloomberg Law’s 40 Under 40 List and a “Top Music Attorney” by Billboard two times.

In addition to building The Fowlkes Firm, Karl is an equity partner in EVGLE LLC, a full service recording, publishing and venture company home to chart-topping artist Blxst. At EVGLE, Karl alongside Blxst and Vic Burnett lead a talented and focused group disrupting the business of Hip-Hop, Technology and Venture.

When not building businesses, Karl educates as a Music Business Professor at Drexel University. Karl's courses include: Hip-Hop Evolution, Music Publishing, Contracts in the Music Industry and Copyright Law. In addition, he’s consistently delivered initiatives throughout the entertainment and media business outside the classroom involving 41 free articles and three full-scale music business exams open to all.
