Joe Barham is Founder and CEO of HIFI Labs, a creative incubator and artist mentorship collective formed in 2020 that builds an artist-owned, community-powered future for musicians. Fueled by web3 technology and industry-changing innovation, HIFI Labs' mission is to achieve a more equitable and sustainable music economy. Barham has been a mainstay in the music industry for over two decades with a diversified career across management, marketing, production, A&R and more.
Before founding HIFI Labs, Barham was the Head of Music for Patreon - the largest direct to fan artist membership platform in the world. Prior to Patreon, he founded the creative agency Tandem, working with clients such as Google, Calm and Twitter. Over the course of his career in the music industry, Barham has also held positions at StarMaker Interactive/The Voice Mobile, Gametime United, Virgin Records, legendary rock n’ roll station KSAN, and started a management company that went on to sign and develop artists such as The Stone Foxes and Bhi Bhiman.
Barham is also an award-winning producer, director and content creator working with the likes of Jim James, Washed Out and Metallica. His work has been featured in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Spin, Billboard, Forbes, Mother Jones, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly, and NPR.
