The company places emphasis on empowering talent to connect with their audience on an individualized basis, using their platform for good, and staying true to their artistic roots. Company and client-wide, Shames’ focus also continues to stay committed in implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, as well as combating mental health in entertainment.
Rooted in the music business, Temima’s clients also span those in comedy, acting, modeling, dance, among others, with an average social following of 10 million across platforms. Her clients have secured achievements such as being a part of YouTube’s Black Voices Class; having over 2 billion views on the platform; appearing in Dubai Fashion week; and being featured creators at Playlist Live and VidCon. Songs, records, and projects she’s been a part of have garnered 25 million streams and viral campaigns with more than 1 million recreates. She’s also activated partnerships with the likes of Disney Music Group, BOSS, Neutrogena, Dick’s Sporting Goods, NYX Cosmetics, and promoting non-profit OutRight Action International to support the LGBTQIA+ community.
Prior to starting her business, Temima began her career as an actress where she first got a taste of the entertainment industry. She later went on to SUNY Oneonta in New York for a degree in Music Industry. Following graduation, she found herself working with influencers and rekindled her passion for the entertainment space working with music companies such as RECORDS, Visionary Music Group, and Atlantic Records. Beyond entertainment, she was crucially involved in Strength to Strength – an organization for kids affected by 9/11 and terrorism where she had the opportunity to speak at the United Nations on terroristic extremism vs. racial & religious bias, as well as peace treaties. As someone who grew up in a household where she had to be resourceful at a very young age, Shames is an advocate for entrepreneurship and aspires to inspire others to take a chance at any age. She is the Founder of Women PowHer Music – a community focused on empowering women in the music business, which is a cause incredibly important to her.
