Coral grew up in Zacatlan and attended university in Puebla. After she finished her Master's degree in Physiology she returned to her hometown Zacatlan where she taught some science courses at the university. During this time she began to help run her family business, which was making marmalades from the local fruits, using the plants of her area to make spirits and creating a milk liquor, to sell to tourists. Her skills learned in the university labs of Puebla were applied to her creations in the kitchen of her family home. Coral didn't stop at the products, she expanded the family business to an Airbnb.
