On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I'm sharing my experience and perspective around parenting a child with neurodiversity. I will preface this by saying that parenting is one of the hardest jobs of all time. It's a tremendous challenge for all of us. An incredible blessing that comes with incredible adversity and learning and trying things. It is MESSY. And imperfect. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. I know you wouldn't either.
In our household, we've learned that having a neurodiverse child heightens the stressors. It all feels a little more intense, harder to manage and seems to last forever and ever - with the seasons changing as slow as molasses. It's a different kind of hard and I want all parents, including parents of kids with neurodiversity, to know that you're doing incredible work learning alongside your children.
I share more about ruminating loops, connecting with other people, rigidity and meltdowns. Why these things have felt harder in our household and a few of the things we've learned to help manage the behavior within our family dynamics. It's a never-ending journey of learning and I want you to know you're never alone. Our family is learning right alongside you, Mama. Never forget that.
I'd love to hear from you and connect further on our stories. If you found this episode valuable, please leave a review, comment below and/or send me a message anytime so we can continue the conversation.
