The Land of Fairies in the woods
The green around was awesome,
That land, alas, lay all within me
When I was sad and lonesome.
I could then well meander
Like the river’s bends and curves
And, traipse through life merrily
Dealing with what it serves.
When Wish and Will in unison walk
The outcome is rewarding,
When the battle lies all within us
The fight is, truly, enervating.
There is no greater beauty
Than that which lies within
That, which only each one views
Away from the fury and the din.
Nothing beats a beating heart
In the softness of its melody,
It might play truant off and on
For, it’s a master of parody.
Remember, those lovely bands of old
Sometimes loud and out of sync,
The Heart does all those things, too
And, sometimes makes you think
But, all in all, happy or sad
Befriending the ruling “ticker”,
Is the wisest thing we’ll ever do
Ask the “Cardio” or the mighty Vicar
Finally, friends, look within
Therein sits a naughty Elf,
We’ll all do well if we learn
To befriend the heart, and ourself.
