The Book of Life
Out of the shadows into the limelight
Into the “arc” and then the sunlight,
All a play of light and dark
A twilight walk in the park.
Joys and Tears flow through its pages
Ask yourself, forget the Sages,
No one understands you better
‘Tis your Alphabet and your letter.
Teachers, Preachers, Sermonizers
Rioters some, some Harmonizers ,
Like the Seas that aid and harm
There’s turbulence and then deep calm.
A potpourri, an unknown blend
A Trend, never more then just a Trend,
Today tells you nothing of the Morrow
Great mirth and then great sorrow.
Emperors glittering in their gold
Living lives with souls, sold
And, he who knows not the warmth of the Sun
Destiny’s chosen, forgotten One.
The Book of Life has it all
Those who rise then precipitously fall,
The mumbo-jumbo of Eternity
But, the game of breaths is no mystery.
The promises of Heavens made
Sweet talk and the sweetened tirade,
All this and much more
As, each one walks the sandy shore
Leaving footprints on wet sands
Nothing, the wrath of Time withstands,
All is dusted and then done
When the “race” of life you have run.
