The River of Mercy
What have I done to deserve this,
What have I done to feel such bliss,
Why is there in wait for me
The eternal river of Mercy, Did someone decree?
'Luck by Chance" was a movie made,
Who is scorched, who gets shade?
Who knows what you have to do
For the river of Mercy to be with you?
Who?
Kindly folks have had it rough,
They're not made for sterner stuff,
Why then is dispensation not fair?
Why isn't the river always there? Why?
Ask not questions of yourself,
For all Man's power and his pelf,
The answers lie in belief, Ashok'
Unquestioned, implicit, unfailing, Always.
