Will Night See the Light of Day
Where have they gone those pretty flowers
Where, the oft- quoted Ivory Towers,
Questions, questions, questions, all
Where is Heaven and it’s “believed” Powers?
Why are we in such disarray
Tragedies now in full display,
Is there no relief in sight, none
Does Heaven have nothing to do or say?
Horrendous, what we witness, sadly
People fleeing and, often, madly,
Children from their parents torn
The elderly being treated, badly.
Where’s Compassion, Care for humanity
Fellow- feeling, brotherhood and parity,
Run for life the only mission
Colour bars the Refugee.
Is it all destined, I ask
Is every face just another mask?
Must we stay oblivious to all
Make ends meet the only task.
Will Night see the light of Day
Will the scene change, another Play?
Will Darkness lift and Dawn arrive
Will the Angel of Peace have its way?
Who knows what the Morrow holds
Who knows what, next, unfolds,
We can only hope and pray
‘Tis Destiny that moulds, re-moulds.
