Tere tasavvur se jaanam yaad aaye phir naseem
Per, yaadein hain saraab woh manzar agar na ho
Khazana woh kya jahan la’al o gohar na ho
Sadaf woh kya batao jis men gauhar na ho
Vaaiz, be hiss ko sunaye to raaeagaan ho sab
Khutbe ka kya fayeda gar us ka asar na ho
Kor chashm ki hayaat mein andhere nahin hotey
Haazir hai nur e khuda gar shams o qamar na ho
Mukhbiri hai aisi is dunya men aaj, ai ‘sahil’
Jahan shab ko bhi kal subh ki, haif, kuch khabar na ho
