Pehchaante hain hum jism o aab ki shanasayi ko
Hum ne dekha hai qareeb se behr ki gehrayi ko
Koste ho kyon bin soche yaro be rukhi ko tum
Khud ko na samajhe aur taraste ho humnawayi ko
Lagte hain daagh daaman pe rashk o hasad ke bhi
Ruswayi mat samajhna har afwaah e ruswayi ko
Ho jaati hai be saakhta yeh fitrat hai mahabat ki
Phir pabandi kyon samajhana rasm e wafaayi ko
Aaj rukte nahin hain paon kisi ke husool e jahan men
Aawara mat samajhna naaseh, tum kisi harjayi ko
Kamzor hotin khwahishen dum tod deti hain, ‘sahil’
Phir karteen hain woh alvida hausla afzaayi ko
